Ape Action Africa is currently closed to visitors until further notice.

We are in the process of transferring some of our primates to different areas of the sanctuary, and in the interest of their welfare we have made the decision to temporarily suspend visits during this period.

We appreciate your understanding and will share an update as soon as possible.

How to get to Mefou

Heading south on the N2 road from Yaounde, towards Mbalmayo, our sanctuary is located in a forest, the turn-off for which is signposted at a village called Ekali II. The last 5 or 6km of the journey is via unpaved roads, and on rare occasions, heavy rains may make the road unpassable.

Please note that from time to time, we may need to close the sanctuary at short notice to carry out emergency procedures or due to adverse weather conditions. To check access on the day of your visit, contact us on +237 6507 90747

Download our leaflet in English or français for further information and directions to the sanctuary.

We look forward to seeing you at Mefou, but if you’re not close enough to visit in person, why not consider donating to help fund our essential work.
