Fund our food
Fund our Food - Feed Our Family
For two years, we were closed to visitors and volunteers. Funding from grants was and remains incredibly difficult to source. Some of our major donors are still unable to provide their support, and we know many of you, our Ape Action Africa allies, also felt and continue to feel the effects of the pandemic.
However, in 2020, with your help, we were able to 'Care through a Crisis.’
In 2021, again, with your help, we made our 25th Anniversary 'A Year to Remember.'
And in 2022, we took our first steps on our long ‘Road to Recovery.'
This year, in 2023, we are asking for your help with the basics.
Feeding our Ape Action Africa family is the charity's second-biggest expense after paying our dedicated caregiving staff salaries.
What is the ‘Fund Our Food’ campaign?
To help us continue our essential work of providing lifelong sanctuary to our orphaned gorillas, chimpanzees, and monkeys, we are asking our supporters to fund our food bill in 2023. This food bill is not just for our primates. It will also enable us to provide three meals a day for the team who provide 24/7 care, 365 days a year for them and for the four-legged family members who have also found safety at Mefou sanctuary.
What is the ‘Fund Our Food’ target?
Our target is £70,500:
£56,000 for primate food
£12,000 for team food
£2,500 for dog food.
How can you help?
There are so many ways you can help! Whether you donate, sponsor, fundraise, buy an Ape Action Africa product or spread the word about our work, you can help us by funding our food and feeding our family.
Share our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter posts on your platforms to raise awareness of the sanctuary, our work, and our ‘Fund Our Food’ 2023 campaign.
